We welcome you to take part in the next seasonal hui where we will discuss where the Manawatū is placed regarding the food waste problem.
The Manawatū Food Action Network is excited to annouce we will be launching our
Community Composting Project
at this hui. We will be providing details of what this project is about, how and when it will be run and who can be involved.
We will also be launching the
Manawatū Food Rescue Guide
and
Food Rescue Best Before Guidelenes
, which are newly created resources that will be free to take back to your organisation.
We will as always be providing you with an opportunity to network with all the wonderful people involved in the Manawatū Food Action Network, from the staff here at ENM through to other organisations out there in the community.
This hui we will be facilitating a lunch with a difference.....
We are wanting to trial a waste-free potluck lunch with the following recommendations:
-Bring food without plastic wrapping or in single use plastic containers.
-Each person should bring just enough food for one meal.
Sufficient
is the key word here!
-Be prepared to take with you any leftover food you provide..lets walk the walk and not create food waste from this event!
-Bonus points for anyone using locally produced food, or food that has been "rescued".
